Deadline Dates: 1st Deadline: 5/31/06 2nd Deadline: 6/30/06 3rd Deadline: 7/31/06 Late Deadline: 8/15/06 There will be sponsored awards for each category. Once you have been accepted into the festival you will receive $100.00 right away to help with your promotions, in addition to 25% of your box office draw. Several films will also be offered a 2 week run at the Crest Theatre (a guaranteed major distribution deal) as well as other theatres throughout the country. Download an entry form here. Send all entries to: Westwood International Film Festival 1262 Westwood Blvd. Los Angeles, CA 90024 Eligibility Requirements: Entry fee is nonrefundable. Filmmakers will be notified ONLY if accepted into the festival. Upon acceptance in the festival you will receive $100.00 to assist in your promotions. Films/videos that have received national U.S. network television (including cable) or theatrical release prior to Festival are not eligible. Titles produced in languages other than English must have legible English subtitles. Entries must be completed work. Entries must not have a current distribution deal. Entering Rules: Please submit works in the format of DVD. For confirmation that your entry was received, please include a SASE. Entry title and name of entrant must be on all materials and containers. Applicants will be notified of the Festival's decision by early September 2006. The Festival is not responsible for submissions lost or damaged in transit. Keep a copy of your completed application for reference. There is no limit to the number of entries per entrant - separate applications and submission fees must accompany each entry. Include a copy of the filmmaker(s)' biography/resume. Include the technical credits on the film. Include press materials, production stills, and other media/promotional items (optional) Include a photograph of filmmaker, if available. Categories for each format: Feature (Anything over 60 min) Short (Anything under 25 min) Student (Please include copy of student I.D.) Documentary Screenplay Entry Fee: For submission by (May 31, 2006) send a check or money order, in U.S. funds only, payable to "Reel Cinema", in the amount of: $50 Feature and Documentary. $25 Short (25 minutes or less), Student and Screenplay. For submission by (June 30, 2006) send a check or money order, in U.S. funds only, payable to "Reel Cinema", in the amount of: $75 Feature and Documentary. $50 Short (25 minutes or less), Student and Screenplay. For submission by (July 31, 2006) send a check or money order, in U.S. funds only, payable to "Reel Cinema", in the amount of: $100 Feature and Documentary. $75 Short (25 minutes or less), Student and Screenplay. For submission by (August 15, 2006) send a check or money order, in U.S. funds only, payable to "Reel Cinema", in the amount of: $125 Feature and Documentary. $100 Short (25 minutes or less), Student and Screenplay Entry fees will not be returned. The Festival reserves the right to impose a $20 surcharge for returned checks. If Film is Selected: Filmmaker is responsible for immediately providing a press kit (including photos, synopsis, and cast). Other: All entry deadline dates are enforced. Principals of Westwood International Film Festival, its affiliates, sponsors, contest processors, Film Festival Supervisors, judges and their immediate families are not eligible for competition. By entering the Westwood International Film Festival, each entrant accepts and agrees to be bound by the official rules of the Westwood International Film Festival. All decisions made by the Westwood International Film Festival are final.
